What kind of soil should be used to replant a bonsai tree?

I have what looks like a bonsai junpier. It has an almost rigid needles pine. It's becoming brown ends and I think it's time to transplant, but do not know what type of pot or soil that I use to do this in. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Also if you can tell me a website that has pictures to help identify exactly what kind of tree would I have much appreciated. Please help! Spent $ 50 on it for my boyfriend you've always wanted one and i dont want to die.
